Erich Gonzales


Erika Chryselle Gonzales Gancayco (born September 20, 1990) known as Erich Gonzales, is a Filipina actress and one of ABS-CBN's Star Magicartists. She is dubbed as the Philippines' Sweetheart.

Career

Her career began when she won as Grand Questor in the reality talent search Star Circle National Teen Quest in 2005. She then became a part of Star Magic. Erich appeared in numerous shows and dramas as a supporting actress. Her biggest break was in 2009, where she played the role of a teenage mother in the TV adaptation of the film Katorse, that starred the actress Dina Bonnevie.The series became a top rater and was critically acclaimed catapulting Erich to stardom and was named Breakthrough Star of 2009 . She had her first Digital Movie Paano Ko Sasabihin? with Enchong Dee.
In 2010, she got her second lead role in the TV series Tanging Yaman alongside her Katorse co-stars Enchong Dee and Ejay Falcon. She was then cast in Magkaribal. The show was highly acclaimed and is now regarded as Philippines' First Fashionserye. Later that year, the hit love team of Erich and Enchong starred in their first mainstream movie I Do. She also became the lead cast of the indie film Noy with Coco Martin. She became one of the main hosts in the youth variety show, Shoutout!, which featured teen stars. The year ended with a bang for Erich as her teleserye Magkaribal ended with very high ratings.
The Filipino adaptation of Maria La Del Barrio was the highlight for Erich in 2011. The series became a Twitter trending royalty as it trended locally and worldwide on and off throughout its run. It was also extended twice as its ratings remained consistently high. Her show ended on a high note in March 2012.
In 2012, she starred in a horror movie alongside Derek Ramsay, titled Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang, which was released on March 14, 2012. The film became the Highest Grossing Digital Film in the country. As a result, Star Cinema crowned Erich with the title of Philippine Box Office Queen For Digital Independent Film. She also appeared in the movie Suddenly It's Magic together with Thai actor, Mario Maurer. The movie was released in October 2012.
