Xian Lim


Alexander Xian Cruz Lim Uy (born July 12, 1989) is a Chinese-Filipino model, actor and singer, also known as Xian Lim. He landed his first major acting role in 2009 when he was cast in the TV adaptation of the film Katorse. He was studying Management at the University of the East where he was also a member of the university's men's basketball varsity team.

Career

Lim is a contract artist of Star Magic. He starred in a few minor roles before landing a lead role in Katorse.[1] In 2010, he got a supporting role in Rubi as Luis Navarro. He became a special judge in Showtime during its summer special. Then, he guest starred in 100 Days to Heaven as Jojo Villanueva.

In 2011, he landed another lead role in My Binondo Girl top-billed by Kim Chiu.
In 2012, he appeared in the film, My Cactus Heart and starred in a youth-oriented movie with Enchong DeeEnrique Gil and Kean Cipriano, entitled The Reunion. He was also back in primetime drama through the teleserye Ina, Kapatid, Anak with Kim ChiuMaja Salvador and Enchong Dee. He is slated to work in a movie with his rumoured girlfriend Kim Chiu.

Anne Curtis, also known as Anne Curtis-Smith (born on 17 February 1985 in WangarattaVictoriaAustralia) is a Filipino-Australian actressmodel,television hostsingerfashion iconrecording artist and VJ, currently active in the Philippines.[1] She also known as the Princess of All Media . She is working under ABS-CBN.
Born Anne Ojales Curtis-Smith, she is the eldest daughter of Carmencita Ojales, a Filipina-Spanish, and James Ernest Curtis-Smith, an Australian lawyer of English[citation needed] descent. She was discovered while on vacation in the Philippines at the age of 12[2] which made her visit permanent.

Career

[edit]1997–2003: Career beginnings

Anne Curtis was born in Wangaratta, Australia. Annually, her family visited the Philippines to see her mothers relatives. In 1997, her visit became permanent when she was discovered while eating in a fast-food restaurant, and acquired her first modelling job in the Philippines. Within a week or so, Curtis had bagged her first commercial. Because of this, she and her father decided to relocate to the Philippines. She completed her 7th grade studies at the Colegio de Sta. Rosa, Makati. Because she was not able to speak Filipino fluently, she had to partake special Filipino classes to increase her fluency.[3] Her first movie was 'Magic Kingdom', where she played a princess. After this, she appeared in several supporting roles in GMA Network's shows. Some of the shows were T.G.I.S.Ikaw Na Sana and the long-running situational comedy series Beh Bote Nga[4]

In 2004, Curtis moved to the rival network of GMA NetworkABS-CBN. The management of ABS-CBN gave her a more mature role, when she starred in Hiram.[3] Her co-stars in the series wereKris AquinoDina BonnevieJohn EstradaHeart Evangelista and Geoff Eigenmann.[5] In 2005, she got her first title role, via the television version of Kampanerang Kuba. The film version ofKampanerang Kuba was starred by star-of-all-season, Vilma Santos.[6] Also in 2005, she hosted the reality show Qpids with her best friend, Luis Manzano.[7] In 2006, she got her first movie underStar CinemaAll About Love. It was a three-part movie and also starred some of the ABS-CBN's biggest stars, John Lloyd CruzBea AlonzoLuis ManzanoAngelica Panganiban and Jason Abalos. Also in 2006, she played a nurse and a psycho killer in Star Cinema and Viva FilmsWag Kang LilingonKristine Hermosa also starred in the film.[8] In that same year, she starred in the critically acclaimed television drama series, Maging Sino Ka Man, wherein she was paired with her ex-boyfriend, Sam Milby. In this series she played the role of Celine, she got the chance to work with veteran actor Christopher De Leon.[9] Her role in the series gave her a best actress nomination in the 21st PMPC Star Awards for Television.[10] She later reprised her role in the second installation of the series, Maging Sino Ka Man: Ang Pagbabalik.[11] In 2007, she starred in the blockbuster comedy-film, Ang Cute Ng Ina Mo, wherein she played the daughter of the comedy-queen, Ai Ai de las Alas.[12]

In 2008, Curtis starred in the film, When Love Begins, wherein she was paired with award-winning actor, Aga Muhlach.[13] Later in that same year, she starred in the award-winning period film,Baler. This was her first on-screen team-up with Jericho Rosales.[14] She won the Best Actress Award from the 34th Metro Manila Film Festival. This marked as Curtis' first acting award, and was very thankful for it.[15] She was also nominated in the 25th PMPC Star Awards for Movies as Film Actress of the Year and in the 11th Gawad Pasado Awards as Pinakapasadong Aktres.[16][17]Also in 2008, she got her second title role, Dyosa (Goddess). Curtis admitted that she was very nervous about her role and she picked that being a mermaid is the hardest. She had three leading men in the series, which are Sam MilbyLuis Manzano and Zanjoe Marudo.[18] After this, she was dubbed as the "Dyosa" of Philippine Showbiz.[19] In 2009, she was one of the main hosts of the highly popular morning variety show, Showtime alongside Vhong NavarroKim AtienzaVice Ganda and many more.[20] In 2009, she played the role of Candice in the television series, The Wedding. Her leading men were Zanjoe Marudo and Derek Ramsay.[21] In 2010, she starred in the film Babe, I Love You. The movie marked her first big-screen team-up with ex-boyfriend, Sam Milby.[22] Her second movie for 2010 was In Your Eyes. Her co-stars include Claudine Barretto and her ex-boyfriend, Richard Gutierrez.[23] Her role in this film earned her a Best Supporting Actress Award from the 29th Luna Awards and a Movie Actress of the Year Nominee from the 27th PMPC Star Awards for Movies.[24][25]

[edit]2011: No Other Woman and Career expansion via Annebisyosa

In 2011, Curtis starred in the Philippine adaptation of the Koreanovela Green Rose. The series featured her reunion with Jericho Rosales.[26] In the same year, Curtis starred in the romantic-comedy film, Who's That Girl?. It served as her reunion movie with Luis Manzano.[27] On September 23, 2011, Curtis launched her debut album, Annebisyosa, under Viva Records. She asked for her bosses to release her album, as it is one of her dreams.[28] She described her album as "super fun" and "not serious." She also stated that people should listen at their own risk.[29] On October 16, 2011, with less than a month of release, the album reached the gold status, as it sold 10,000 copies. Curtis cried while receiving the gold record award.[30] On December 11, 2011, the album reached the Platinum status.[31] In 2011, she played the role of Kara Zalderiaga in the phenomenal box-office hit, No Other Woman, which also stars Derek Ramsay and Cristine Reyes.[32]The film earned Php 275 Million, making it the highest grossing Filipino film, until it was beaten by The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin.[33] Her role in the film lead her and co-star Cristine Reyesto be recognized as the Box Office Queens at the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Foundation's 43rd Box-Office Entertainment award.[34] She also won as the Pinakapasadong Aktres (Best Actress) at the 14th Gawad Pasado Awards.[35] In the 28th PMPC Star Awards for Movies, she was nominated as Movie Actress of the Year.[36]

[edit]2012: Annebisyosa: No Other Concert World Tour

In December 2011, Curtis' conference for her upcoming concert, Annebisyosa No Other Concert World Tour was held. She was to perform at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum on January 28, 2012. The concert was also a celebration for her 15th year in show business.[37] Her guests at her first major solo concert were her sister Jasmine Curtis,[38] her best friend Luis Manzano,[39] her co-hosts in ShowtimeVhong Navarro and Vice Ganda,[39] rock stars Rico Blanco and Ira Cruz,[40] her ex-boyfriend Sam Milby,[40] her No Other Woman co-stars, Derek Ramsay and Cristine Reyes,[41] and the Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo.[41] Some of the celebrities that went to watch her first major solo concert were Solenn HeussaffGeorgina WilsonKarylle,[39] Kris Aquino,[42] KC ConcepcionRichard GutierrezJessy Mendiola and Jhong Hilario.[41] After her major solo concert, several provincial concerts were held, the first stop of the concert series was held on March 23, 2012 in Waterfront Hotel, Cebu and the second one was held on May 5, 2012 in Atrium, Limketkai Center, Cagayan De Oro City.[43]

Coco Martin


Rodel Luis Cortez Nacianceno (born on November 1, 1981), better known by his stage name, Coco Martin, is a critically acclaimed Gawad Urian Award-winning Filipino actor. He became famous for starring in many independent films,[1] and was dubbed the Prince of Philippine Independent Films. He is also known for his portrayal of Ramon Lecumberri in the critically acclaimed television seriesTayong Dalawa,[2] as well as for his award-winning dual role as twins Alexander and Javier del Tierro in the series Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin and his main protagonist role as Daniel Guidotti in Walang Hanggan.

Career

Martin started out in ABS-CBN's talent agency, Star Magic, as part of the Star Circle Batch 9. He made his first cameo film appearance in the 2001 film Luv Txt where he was credited under his real name, Rodel Nacianceno, followed by many independent films.
Since then he has appeared in several TV advertisements before breaking back into showbiz with his lead debut independent film Masahista for which he was awarded the Young Critics Circle Best Actor Award in 2006. He also starred in Kaleldo in 2006.
Early in 2007, Martin joined GMA Network, and appeared in several GMA TV shows starting with Daisy Siete. He also became a member of the boy-group The Studs. Martin was also seen in independent gay-oriented filmsDaybreak and Jay where he earned his first Gawad Urian Award for Best Supporting Actor.
In 2008, Martin returned to ABS-CBN and was cast in Ligaw na Bulaklak as one of the regular cast members. In 2009, he starred in the drama series Tayong Dalawa where he won the award for Best Drama Actor at the 2009 Star Awards for Television. After Tayong Dalawa, he starred in the afternoon soap opera titled Nagsimula sa Puso alongside Maja SalvadorJason Abalos, and Nikki Gil. In the same year he joined Star Magic.[3]
In 2010, he became part of the cast of ABS-CBN's primetime drama, Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo and had his first leading role in the action series Tonyong Bayawak. He also starred in his first mainstream film Sa 'yo Lamang[1] and the primetime series, 1DOL. Martin also filmed another independent film titled Kinatay where he was nominated for a FAMAS Award for Best Actor.
In 2011, he lead the highly-acclaimed television series Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.[4] In May, Martin received the Dekada Award in the Gawad Urian ceremony.[5] He was nominated for multiple awards for his portrayal as Alexander and Javier Del Tierro in Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, namely from the KBP Golden Dove Awards, Golden Screen Awards and Star Awards for TV.
In 2012, Martin starred in another ensemble series titled Walang Hanggan, an adaptation of the 1991 film Hihintayin Kita Sa Langit.[6] He also starred in his second mainstream film entitled Born to Love You opposite Angeline Quinto.[7] He is set to star in a movie with Judy Ann Santos titled Love Will Lead You Back.[8] Martin also signed with Regal Entertainment to do a film with Marian Rivera entitled Maybe This Time, set to be released in 2013.[9]
In May 2012, a script for a film called Juan dela Cruz was submitted to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival, starring Martin alongside Tayong Dalawa co-star Jake Cuenca, Nagsimula Sa Pusoand Minsan Lan Kita Iibigin leading lady Maja Salvador, and Albert Martinez.[10] The entry, set to be directed by Richard Somes, was one of the 7 rejected scripts. Cinemedia Films Production Incorporated and ABS-CBN unit head Deo Endrinal felt that the project would be better suited for TV, and have the now mini-series set to air in 2013. Erich Gonzales is taking the role as Martin's leading lady. Gina Pareño and Mylene Dizon also star, and Malu Sevilla will direct.[11]
